Furong Avenue Bridge, Changsha
The steel structure portion of the bridge weighs approximately 5,000 tons. The grade of the steel is Q345D. The total length of the bridge is 1,021.1 meters, with a width of 24 meters and a maximum span of 47.6 meters. It is designed for six lanes of traffic in both directions. The structural form consists of H-shaped steel plate girders, with fully assembled high-strength bolt connections and no welding throughout the bridge. The entire bridge is located near the urban rail system, with parts also close to the city subway, which made construction more challenging. It is a key project for Changsha, and manufacturing and installation were completed within three months.
