Steel structural materials mainly include hot-rolled steel plates, cold-rolled steel plates, galvanized steel plates, color coated steel plates, etc. These materials play an important role in steel structures, with specific uses and characteristics as follows:
Hot rolled steel plate: Hot rolled steel plate is made by heating steel billets and passing them through multiple rolling processes. It is divided into thin plates (thickness not greater than 3mm), medium plates (thickness between 4-20mm), thick plates (thickness between 20-60mm), and extra thick plates (thickness greater than 60mm). Hot rolled steel plates are commonly used for connecting and welding steel sections, forming load-bearing components for steel structures.
Cold rolled steel plate: Cold rolled steel plate is made by cold deformation processing on the basis of hot-rolled steel plate. It has high strength and hardness, but low toughness and plasticity, making it suitable for structural components that require high strength.
Galvanized steel plate: Galvanized steel plate is protected from corrosion by coating the surface of the steel plate with a layer of zinc. According to different production processes, galvanized steel plates can be divided into types such as hot-dip galvanizing, alloying galvanizing, and electroplating galvanizing, which have good rust prevention and welding performance.
Color coated steel plate: Color coated steel plate is made by spraying paint on hot-dip galvanized or aluminum zinc coated plate. The substrate can be cold-rolled substrate, hot-dip galvanized substrate, etc., and the coating types include polyester, silicon modified polyester, etc. It is commonly used for building exterior walls, roofs, etc.
The application of these materials in steel structures not only improves the load-bearing capacity of buildings, but also extends their service life through different surface treatment techniques, meeting diverse engineering needs.
